Obama’s Shameful Treachery & Betrayal of Israel

President Obama cannot exit the White House fast enough for Israel and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

The problem is, our feckless president still has another 20 days in office and one has a feeling that Obama’s attempts to eviscerate Israel for the Islamic Palestinian settlement are not finished.

It began last week when the United States, on Obama’s orders, refused to veto an anti-Semitic United Nations Security Council resolution that condemned Israel’s settlements on the West Bank.

The resolution passed with 14 votes, with US ambassador to the UN, Samantha Power, raising her hand to abstain. Afterward, there was thunderous applause in the chamber which epitomized the years of antagonism between Netanyahu’s government and Obama’s anti-Israel administration.

Samantha Power votes to abstain

“Our vote today does not in any way diminish the United States’ steadfast and unparalleled commitment to the security of Israel,” Power said.

Nevermind that the resolution essentially declares the holiest spots in Judaism, the Temple Mount and the West Wall, sovereign Muslim territory, and says that all Jews living outside of pre-1967 lines are illegal residents on sovereign Muslim territory.

Nevermind that while the resolution condemned Israeli settlements as ‘illegal’ and obstacles to peace, the fact that the European Union has been funding the building of Palestinian settlements in the disputed territories somehow was not even mentioned, let alone condemned as illegal, or an obstacle to peace.

Nevermind that Obama’s betrayal was on behalf of a dubious Palestinian government comprised of three terrorist groups – Hamas, Islamic Jihad, and the Palestinian Authority.

None of that concerned John Kerry Wednesday when he blathered on for 73 minutes in a deceitful policy speech that was filled with lies, inaccuracies, and omissions. For example, he failed to mention the repeated offers from Israel to end the occupation and settlements and to create a Palestinian state on the West Bank and Gaza.

He failed to mention that in 2008, Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert offered 94.2 percent of Judea and Samaria to the Palestinians, a corridor that would link that territory to the Gaza Strip, land swaps that would increase Palestinian land holdings, and a formula for the division of Jerusalem. Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas refused the deal. A similar deal was offered to the Palestinians by Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Barak in 2001. Yassar Arafat refused it.

Failing to mention these important points reveals the Obama administration’s inherent bias toward Israel. Kerry’s rambling anti-Semitic diatribe reminded me of his hateful 1971 testimony before Congress in which he slandered American soldiers in Vietnam, calling them criminals and other scurrilous names.

Netanyahu’s office has accused the Obama administration of “colluding” with anti-Semites in the UN. It also said it looked forward to working with President-elect Donald Trump, as well as Israel-friendly members of Congress, “to negate the harmful effects of this absurd resolution.”

“We have ironclad information from sources in both the Arab world and internationally that this was a deliberate push by the United States and in fact, they helped create the resolution in the first place,” Israeli spokesman David Keyes said.

“Obama, would you mind removing the knife from my back.”

Netanyahu reaffirmed those charges during a Wednesday press conference and the Simon Wiesenthal Center called the Obama Administration’s abstention the worst case of anti-Semitism in 2016.

“The most stunning 2016 UN attack on Israel was facilitated by President Obama when the US abstained on a UN Security Council resolution condemning Israel for settlement construction. It reversed decades-long US policy of vetoing such diplomatic moves against the Jewish State,” the Jewish human rights organization wrote.

The Wiesenthal Center is right to characterize both the Obama administration and the United Nations as anti-Semitic.

In fact, UNSC Resolution 2334 represents a prolific year for the anti-Semites who control the United Nations. In a single day last November, committees of the UN General Assembly adopted ten resolutions against Israel, the only open and Democratic society in the Middle East.

How many resolutions have been approved against Syria? One. How many against the rogue state of North Korea? One. How many against Russia when it annexed Crimea? One.

Not a single resolution was approved against nations that abuse human rights, such as Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Venezuela, China or Cuba.

Behavior like that validates the assessment that the U. N. has become a hollow and useless organization run by nations that abhor democracy and freedom, not to mention the Judeo-Christian values that have been the bedrock of Western Civilization for 2,000 years.

Indeed, the fate of Judeo-Christian civilization in the Middle East is tied to the fate of Israel. If Israel ceases to exist, so does Christianity in the region. For the past decade, we have witnessed how the few Christians and other non-Muslims remaining in the Middle East are being slaughtered, now that the Jews and Greeks have been murdered or driven out of Islamic countries.

And some (read Obama) still insist on calling Islam a religion of peace and tolerance. There is nothing tolerant about a religion that behaves more like a cult and which preaches death to all non-believers.

Last month, the UN’s anti-Semitic, anti-Israel sentiments were on full display when the President of the UN General Assembly, Peter Thomson, wore a keffiyeh, the checkered scarf considered a symbol of the “Palestinian resistance” (read terrorism).

That disgusting display was nothing more than a declaration that the UN supports the cultural and physical obliteration of Israel.

United Nations Bldg in NYC

I think Donald Trump is on the right track when it comes to the United Nations. First, the U.S. should stop funding it. American taxpayers shell out about one-fifth of the U.N.’s $13 billion budget. And what do we get in return? Nothing, except constant haranguing by a bunch of anti-American buffoons pretending to be useful.

Next, Trump should boot the U.N. out of New York and the United States. Ideally, it should be located in a neutral nation like Switzerland or Sweden. Then, Trump could turn the current U.N. building located on prime New York land into a new hotel or a complex of condos.

Finally, the U.S. should renounce and quit the iniquitous organization altogether, thereby hastening its long-overdue demise.

As with Kerry, the American people will not miss the UN when it is finally and thankfully gone.
