The other day, I watched Democrat Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries blathering on about recently fired Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noam.

Jeffries was ecstatic. In fact, he seemed to be salivating as he tore into Noem’s damaged political carcass.

“Good riddance,” Jeffries snarled. “Noem was an unhinged, out-of-control, pathological liar who abused her power from day one. She wasted taxpayer dollars on a luxury jet and public funds to glorify her ICE Barbie self-image.”

Here’s what you need to understand about Hakeem Jeffries. He doesn’t view Republicans like Noem, Donald Trump, Pam Bondi, or Pete Hegseth as mere political opponents. He sees them as mortal enemies to be ripped to shreds. He wants them lifeless, not simply politically inert. He wants Donald Trump on a mortician’s slab, not sitting in the Oval Office with foreign leaders.

For him and his fellow radical Socialist Democrats, politics is a blood sport, not a civilized means of democratic government. It is a life-and-death brawl that is not for the faint of heart. If you can’t exterminate the person, then kill their political career. Jeffries would be right at home in Iran. With a name like Hakeem, he might even be elevated to Ayatollah status once he terminates enough political opponents.

Such wishful thinking, Ron. Cut it out!

Okay, back to the business at hand. I am not here to defend Kristi Noem, but the fact is, she was the most effective DHS secretary since the department was created in the wake of the 9/11 attacks a quarter century ago.

Noem was canned by Donald Trump after her less-than-stellar performance in Congress last week, during which her leadership and personal behavior were challenged and questioned by senators and members of the House.

A combination of missteps by DHS and Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents in Minnesota, including the shooting deaths of two U.S. citizens, Renee Good and Alex Pretti, left Noem facing bipartisan condemnation. She exacerbated things when she labeled the two deceased protestors “domestic terrorists,” an allegation that was widely criticized as false based on bystander video.

There was also the alleged affair with her senior adviser, Corey Lewandowski. During the  House hearing, Noem refused to answer whether she was having “sexual relations” with him, calling the question “tabloid garbage.” Sources indicated the exchange was a “brutal” final blow to her credibility.

Actually, the final blow reportedly was Noem’s Congressional testimony regarding a $220 million DHS advertising campaign that featured her prominently. She claimed Trump had personally approved the spending, but Trump disputed this, telling reporters he never signed off on it.

So the writing was on the wall regarding Noem’s position. As Jefferies jabbered away, his mouth curled into a malevolent smirk. Clearly, Jeffries was incalculably proud of his efforts to see Noem ejected from her DHS job. Rack one up for the House Minority Leader. Is Pam Bondi next?

Jeffries then added that while Noem’s ouster was a necessary “first step,” a “change in personnel is not sufficient.” He demanded “bold, meaningful, and transformational” changes to DHS and ICE, stating that Democrats would continue to hold Noem accountable for every “corruptly spent” dollar.

Of course, Jeffries telling DHS how to reform itself is like the fox offering to provide a security plan for the hen house. The chickens don’t stand a chance.

Like most Democrats in Congress and elsewhere, the real reason Jeffries wanted Noem gone was the fact that she was incredibly effective at chucking illegal migrants and violent criminals out of the country.

During her year at the helm of DHS, Noem had completely shut down the porous southern border and was succeeding in Trump’s mass deportation of criminal and illegal migrants. In the past year, at least 2.6 million migrants either self-deported or were expelled from the country.

That’s the last thing Jeffries and his leftist cronies in Congress want. Those 2.6 million migrants and the other 15-20 million who entered the US during Joe Biden’s reign are replacement voters for Democrats who lost millions of middle-class Americans because of their warped woke policies.

The fact is, a majority of Americans, unlike radical Democrats, still believe there are only two biological genders and that it is morally and criminally wrong to butcher the genitalia of confused children suffering from gender dysphoria.

Most Americans also reject state and city sanctuary policies that prohibit local law enforcement from cooperating with federal immigration authorities—a policy that chooses to protect criminals over American citizens.

Only the most radical leftists have advocated for abolishing or defunding ICE, a stance that endangers national security, and only the wackiest Democrats believe that men and boys should be allowed to compete with women in athletic contests and to shower with them in locker rooms.

Common-sense Americans know that DEI policies are nothing more than a war on merit, and that schools should not be used for radical socialist and communist indoctrination.

Most Americans still believe that those entering our country should do so legally through secure borders, not as they did during the Biden administration, when they flooded into the country by the hundreds of thousands every month, unknown and unvetted.

But hey, allowing millions of illegal migrants to enter the country and vote in American elections is a key strategy in the Democrats’ plan to retake Congress in 2016 and the Presidency in 2018. It is, in fact, their most effective strategy, and Kristi Noem was a major obstacle to that strategy.

Another obstacle is the Safeguard American Voter Eligibility (SAVE) America Act,  often referred to as “SAVE Act 2.0,” a federal legislative proposal passed by the House of Representatives on February 11, 2026. Its stated goal is to ensure that only U.S. citizens can vote in federal elections by implementing nationwide verification standards.

The SAVE Act scares the hell out of Democrats. Part of it requires Documentary Proof of Citizenship (DPOC).  It amends the National Voter Registration Act to require individuals to provide physical proof of citizenship (such as a passport or birth certificate) when registering to vote. A standard REAL ID driver’s license would no longer be sufficient on its own.

The act mandates a restrictive list of government-issued photo IDs to be shown at the time of voting. It specifically prohibits student IDs and limits the types of tribal identification accepted. States would be required to regularly submit their voter rolls to the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) for cross-referencing with the Systematic Alien Verification for Entitlements (SAVE) database to identify and remove potential noncitizens.

The bill also allows individuals to sue election officials if they believe the law is not being properly enforced, and it establishes criminal penalties for officials who register someone without the required documentation.

Jeffries and Democrat accomplices are especially opposed to closing loopholes in our current election process. For example, eliminating the current “self-attestation” system, in which applicants simply check a box to affirm citizenship, is especially irksome to Jeffries and Democrats.

They also don’t like the idea of standardized rules, such as creating a uniform federal requirement to replace the varying state-level enforcement of existing noncitizen voting bans. Nor do they like using federal databases, such as the DHS SAVE system, to ensure voter lists remain accurate and restricted to eligible citizens.

Jeffries and his Democrat accomplices say requiring voters to prove they are citizens is “un-American.” They argue that noncitizen voting is already illegal and extremely rare.

However, groups such as the Heritage Foundation disagree. They maintain a database of election fraud cases that highlight vulnerabilities, including voting by illegal aliens. They argue that even small numbers of ineligible votes can be significant in close elections and that the current “self-attestation” system (where one simply checks a box affirming citizenship) is a loophole that necessitates stricter proof-of-citizenship laws, such as the proposed SAVE Act.

Jeffries claims the act is a form of “voter suppression” that could disenfranchise up to 21 million eligible Americans who lack easy access to original birth certificates or passports. That represents about 9 percent of the American population.

Hmmm. Twenty-one million voters. Isn’t that about the number of illegal migrants who surged through our open borders during the four-year-long Biden regime?

No, no, says Jeffries. Those who will be disenfranchised are married women with name changes, students, and low-income voters.

In reality, however, it’s those 15-21 million illegal migrants who will be disenfranchised that Jeffries and Democrats are most concerned about.

We can only hope that Republican Senator Markwayne Mullin (R-OK), whom President Trump nominated to succeed Noem as DHS Secretary, is as efficient at booting illegal migrants and criminals out of the country as his predecessor was. That is especially critical before the 2016 Midterm and the 2018 Presidential elections.

Of course, if Hakeem Jeffries had his way, he would put Alejandro Mayorkas back in charge of DHS so that another 15 or 20 million illegal migrants could swamp our country. That is exactly what will happen if an America-hating, open borders Democrat gains access to the Hen House, er, White House in 2018.
