One day, perhaps 50 years from now, historians will look back on the years between 2020 and 2025 and conclude that America chose to abandon common sense and established fact despite significant advances in artificial intelligence, science, medicine, and technology.
They will marvel at AI advancements, including the rapid scaling of multimodal AI models like Grok-3 (2024) and Claude 4 (2025), which enable real-time video generation and autonomous agents, and computer use. They will admire OpenAI’s GPT-5, integrated with quantum-inspired optimization for drug discovery, which accelerated FDA approvals by 40%.
On the other hand, they will be perplexed that such a scientifically advanced nation struggled to determine the biological and physical differences between a man and a woman, even though those differences have been obvious to even the most primitive humans for millennia. They will question why such a question ever ascended to the level of the Supreme Court and why the highest court in the land was asked to decide whether biological men should be allowed to compete against women in athletic contests, and whether or not those men should be allowed to undress in or do their business in women’s locker rooms and bathrooms.
In the realm of neuroscience, future generations will be in awe of Neuralink’s first human brain implant (2024), which restored quadriplegic mobility, and of DARPA’s 2026 mapping of the full human connectome, which advanced models of consciousness. They will be amazed by biotech breakthroughs, such as CRISPR 3.0 (2022), which enabled precise gene editing to cure sickle cell disease, and mRNA cancer vaccines (Moderna, 2024) that demonstrated 90% efficacy in trials.
On the other hand, they will wonder why Joe Biden’s Democrat administration (2020-2024) encouraged some 14 million illegal migrants, hundreds of thousands of whom were violent criminals, to invade the United States through wide-open borders and why blue state and blue city governors and mayors encouraged unhinged leftists goons (and “goonesses”) to harass, impede, injure, and even call for the killing of federal agents who were tasked by the Republican Trump administration with arresting and deporting those illegal migrant criminals.
Americans in the future will be astonished by discoveries made with the James Webb Space Telescope (NASA, 2022-2026) that have revealed at least 100 exoplanets with Earth-like biosignatures, including potential ocean worlds that could support human life.
On the other hand, they will wonder why Democrats vehemently opposed President Trump’s attempts via DOGE to eliminate waste, fraud, and abuse in the federal government, his aggressive dismantling of the “deep state” bureaucracy, mass reductions in the federal workforce, his tough immigration measures, and the elimination of the “woke” and DEI agendas in the military and federal government.
Future generations will watch videos of thousands of deranged leftist, socialist, and communist rioters, enraged by the death of a violent, impenitent thug named George Floyd, engage in 2020’s so-called “summer of love.” They will learn that looting and burning in cities like Minneapolis, Portland, Kenosha, Chicago, New York, and Seattle, and some 130 other cities, caused an estimated $2 billion in damage to insured property—the costliest civil disorder in U.S. history, surpassing the 1992 Los Angeles riots ($1.4 billion).
They will discover that in Minneapolis alone, more than 400 businesses were damaged, that the city tallied $55 million in damage and looting, and rebuilding estimates exceeded $500 million. Thank you, “Tampon” Tim.
Our descendants will have trouble understanding a Democratic Party that supported open borders and the unchecked invasion of our country by hordes of uneducated, unskilled migrants, 60 per cent of whom used taxpayer-funded welfare support costing about $109 billion annually, as well as free non-citizen healthcare that cost another $200 billion.
Is there another country that provides such largess for an illegal class of migrants?
Answer: No other country provides comparable welfare benefits (healthcare, food assistance, housing) to illegal immigrants as does the U.S. As we see in Minnesota, California, and many other blue states, even though federal restrictions exist regarding welfare, etc., devious Democrat officials and corrupt NGOs offer extensive aid via taxpayer funds, some of which are purloined.
Consider these examples. Illegal immigrants access emergency Medicaid, SNAP, state-funded free health insurance (e.g., California’s Cal-Health for ages 26-49, New York’s Medicaid for seniors), NGO shelters and other services ($640M+ federal grants in 2024), and local programs like blue city Denver’s 6-month free housing scheme.
Meanwhile, European nations like the UK, Germany, and France mostly restrict illegal immigrants to emergency care only, with no routine welfare, food stamps, or housing. Deportation is prioritized over benefits. Canada limits emergency services, barring non-status migrants from most social assistance. Australia’s policy emphasizes detention and rapid removal without access to welfare.
The U.S. stands out because of the scale of the benefits it offers illegal migrants ($150 billion in annual net costs) and indirect channels, such as child benefits and, in some states, free health care.
Given the magnets that Democrats and socialists have created to attract more illegal migrants, such as limitless welfare, free health care, open housing, and free education, it is no surprise that millions of people worldwide are eager to enter the United States illegally. The only requirement they have, say their Democrat masters, is to vote for any name that has a “D” after it—the legal requirements for voting in American elections be damned.
Is it any wonder, then, that future generations will simply shake their heads at such lunacy and conclude that the destruction of the United States, its culture, its values, and its democratic system originated from within when socialists and communists gained control of the Democrat Party and encouraged blue states and cities to go to war with the American government?
Maybe fifty years from now, Americans will have regained their senses and realized that the United States cannot be a sanctuary for the world’s slackers and idlers who guzzle at the public trough or adopt fraudulent schemes rather than do an honest day’s work.
Perhaps, unlike many of today’s Americans, they will reject those who refuse to assimilate, disallow the entry of violent criminals, unskilled and illiterate throngs, and those who refuse to embrace the values and ideals that have made America the great nation it is—or should I say, the great nation it once was.
I’m not optimistic.
